To graduate, students will still need complete 80 credits. The number of credits required to graduate remains the same. That hasn't changed.
The BC secondary school provincial exams are being discontinued, to be replaced with two new assessments, which focus on literacy and numeracy. The numeracy assessment is being implemented in June, 2018.
There will be an overlap between the previous graduation program and the new one. There will also be a transition period to account for current students who are progressing under a number of different scenarios. The amount of overlap will depend on how many current courses and exams a student has completed and written before June 2017.
