Process
Are you interested in developing a course that suits your local context, learners and community? Yukon Department Authorized Courses must meet the requirements as outlined in the Course Form and must be submitted be approved by the Yukon Department Authorized Courses Committee. Submit via email to contact person(s) below.
Ensure approximately three months for the approval process.
Steps:
1) Review and download the Course Template.

2) Review the Checklist for Approval to understand the criteria.
3) Collaborate with your colleagues, partner groups and community to complete the Course Template.
4) Once completed, email to the Secondary Curriculum Consultant at the Department of Education (see contact at bottom of page)
5) The Committee has 30 days to review the course, provide feedback for improvement, and approval.
6) If disapproved, the applicants are encouraged to re-submit integrating the Committee's feedback.
7) Once the criteria for approval is all met, and feedback loops between applicant(s) and Committee have ended, the Committee will approve courses.
8) Upon approval in writing from the Committee, the course can be taught and a course code will be granted to award elective credits for grades 10 -12.
